New term, new sport?

After the summer break it’s back to a new academic year. Wicken Archers will soon be migrating indoors on Monday and Tuesday evenings, but there are still a couple of beginners’ courses available in the autumn before the chill really sets in. Each is of 2 consecutive Sundays 13:30 to 16:30:

  • September – 17th and 24th [Course full]
  • October – 1st and 8th
  • October – 22nd and 29th

We provide all the equipment required for the course, which are all outdoors at Wicken Sports Ground. Juniors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian throughout the course.

Start as you mean to go on …

We like to have a bit of fun on our beginner’s courses and a frequent exercise is to shoot small balloons. Here’s one of our newer members showing us how it’s done (taken during beginner’s course earlier in the year … although it’s obviously not recent as the skies are blue and there’s no rain!):

As we head into the summer, Wicken archers are spreading their wings and taking part in competitions … with some success! Congratulations to all those competing.
